BOOKS!

I love me some coffee table books so whenever I find some on super-sale I snatch em up.  These are from our shopping trip yesterday.  Today will be spent sitting outside and then going to either Girl With A Dragon Tattoo or Hugo at the cheap theater.  I miss going to movies so much.  I worked at a movie theater in high school and the free movies perk sparked my love for seeing movies in theaters--nothing quite like it!  Hope you're having a lovely day!

I'M ON SPRING BREAK!!!!!!!!!!  This outfit isn't very spring-y but I'm still making use of my winter chords and sweaters because... I can.  The weather has been absolutely beautiful in Denver the past couple weeks and I'm just now starting to dig out my summer digs so you may being seeing those soonish.  Jeremiah and I had a fun St. Patty's because we did nothing involving St. Patty's.  BUT! we did celebrate in our own way by getting some killer pizza at Famous and books at Tattered Cover.  I'll share pictures of my books next time.  My week of break will be spent at Jeremiah's ranch, riding my favorite horsey and cruising through some leftover homework.  Fun times all around!!

I wish these photos did the colors of this outfit justice.  They're all very similar but not quite as matchy as they seem in the photos.  The hat and shoes are a true brown while the sweater is maroon.  The elbow patches are more of a light beige while the chords are a rich tan.  Keeping colors similar but just a little different can make a simple outfit really stand out.  I added the red bag for a bit of kick.  Red is obvi in the same color family as maroon but adding a bright to an earth-toned outfit keeps things feisty.  I also love playing with texture: Felt hat, tortoise shell glasses, faux suede elbow patches, chords, and a leather purse and shoes.  BOOM.

Also, note to future self: Fix quad-boob before taking pics!!  My bad!

Howdy y'all!  Long time no bloggy.  I've been studying for a few solid weeks now as midterms swiftly approach and I haven't given myself time to blog or see any friends for ages.  I'M GOING CRAZY!!  I have one more week to go and then I'll take a much needed spring break.

This outfit heightened my mood a great deal because not only is the color yellow irresistible, but every piece I'm wearing is one of my favorites!!!!!!!  YEAH!  I generally wouldn't buy pants this expensive but I had a job interview downtown last week and when I woke up to find none of my dress pants fit, I made an emergency stop at H&M, barely making it to my interview 10 minutes early.

Welp, I guess I'm off to study.  I promise I'll rejoin the blog world soon.

The Pants...

Sometimes I get extremely insecure about my body and the way clothes fit and look.  If you're a lady reading this, I'm almost 100% positive you've felt the same.  If you're a gentleman reading this, thanks for checking out my fashion bloggy!  Yeah!  But for reals, who hasn't felt they look like a turd in some way, shape or form in the past day/week/month/year... it happens.

Well, I wore some pretty strange pants tonight and although I absolutely adore them in the privacy of my bedroom, when it came time to strut the pants in public, I got a little freaked, worrying that I had mom-butt etc etc etc...  So, I bombarded Jeremiah with the "mom-butt" questions a million times over and when I still wasn't satisfied with his answers ("You look great!"  How could I possibly be satisfied with this?  I'm a psycho girl!), I resigned to the feeling of pants-anxiety.

My pants-anxiety was put to rest, however, by the nicest compliment from my girl, Casey, in where else but the women's bathroom.  We weren't even talking about the pants!  She simply said, "you're like, the most stylish person I know..." and BOOM.  No more pants-anxiety.  Best compliment ever.
