A sweater!
Coat: Younkers $? // Sweater: Buffalo Exchange $30 // Shirt: Express $30 // Jeans: F21 $12 // Boots: Nine West $30
Hey, look! A sweater!
With an animal on it!
Isn't it the most presh thing you've ever seen?
I wore this to both jobs today and felt fairly productive. I can't help but feel productive when wearing an oxford/sweater combo. I guess the glasses don't hurt either.
I worked with a student on a piece of writing involving her knitting and was able to use my sweater as a prime example. So, bonus points on that one.
Hope y'all are having a lovely day.

Schlub...
Floral Blazer: Thrifted $6 // Shirt: Espress (Gifted) $0 // Shorts: Thrifted $7 // Coat: Younkers $? // Shoes: Nine West $30
I HAVEN'T DRESSED UP IN FOREVER.
I didn't realize how much having a dog could cramp my dress-up style. I've been living in sweatpants and old tees while we train her, and I've felt like such a schlub.
Though I didn't wear this outfit for very long, I felt the perfect amount of pretty in my red coat and new floral blazer.
Hope you've been well!

Girly...
[Hat: Unknown $? // Coat: Thrifted Bebe $10 // Sweater: Thrifted Columbia $2.50 // Skirt: Thrifted $5 // Boots: Thrifted Doc Martens $19 // Bag: Thrifted $10]
What a lovely Saturday to wake up to!!!
A trip to the library, grocery shopping, and a healthy dinner after a Friday night of friends, fondue, and my favorite new game, Balderdash?? Yep, it's been a good weekend so far.
Hope y'all are well!
Variations of this outfit have been my favorite lately. I thrifted a bunch of skirts at Buffalo Exchange and have been gettin' my girly on ever since.

Gray day...
// Hat: Unknown $? // Sweater: Thrifted Columbia $2.50 // Chords: Levi's $30 // Boots: Nine West $30 //
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
Despite the mood of these pictures, my day has been quite sunny thus far.
After a long and productive day of class, I plan to settle into a bubble bath, sippy sippy on some wine, and paint my nails the deepest and darkest shade of red I can find.

Birthday!!!
{Hat: Bakers $30 // Bag: Thrifted $10 // Coat: Gifted $0 // Jacket: F21 $19 // Shirt: Thrifted American Apparel $7 // Skirt: F21 $5 // Boots: Nine West $30}
It's my birthday week and I feel so grateful to my friends for being either as excited or more excited than I am about the occasion!! I went to Beauty Bar with (forgive me for listing but I want to remember) Stu, Diana, Aaron, Morgan, Ned, Spen, Casey, John Paul, Jesse, Jeremiah, Andrew, Caleb, Meg, and Tim and we had a glorious time. Tuesday night is not exactly the wildest night of the week but I had a perfectly mellow time with the folks I most wanted to be there.
Casey bought me a mani (gold with silver sparkles) and I sipped away the night with a fancy drank called "Beauty School Dropout."
I'm excited to continue the festivities with a little ski-venture with my brothers this weekend!!!

Stock Show...
{Coat: Thrifted Gap ($4); Shirt: Thrifted J.Crew ($2.50); Chords: Thrifted Ralph Lauren ($2.50); Boots: London Fog ($50)}
Had some good luck at the thrift store the other day and decided to build my outfit for the stock show around these amazing RL high-waisted chords and some two-toned riding boots from way back when. The stock show is always a big event. I had the absolute best time petting horses, various baby animals, and catching up with old pals.
S. Broadway...
{Bomber: Abercrombie and Fitch lol (super old $?); Shirt: F21 (sale $3); Boyfriend jeans and shirt: Borrowed ($0); Shoes: Thrifted ($3); Sunglasses: Walmart ($9)}
Helloooooooooooooo!
I wore this strange outfit to S. Broadway to eat some pizza at Famous, check out some books from the library, and thrift my heart out at Goodwill, which always has their half off sales on Saturday. I found some super steals and nothing was over $5, so I was pretty content with the trip.
I start school and work in a few days and I'm hoping and praying everything will go okay this semester. I had some pre-semester training for work and I am definitely excited to start that part; I just hope I can find the same motivation for school.
MEH.
I guess we'll see.

Block...
{Coat: Thrifted ($3.50); Sweater, Scarf & Jeans: F21 ($19, $3 & $12); Shoes: Nine West ($30)}
Here's an example of my crazy coat in action.
Color blocking up the heezy with this outfit, I tell you. I'm still not sure if this look "works" or not but I know I felt cool wearing each piece together, so I guess that's all that matters.
I've been wearing a lot of F21 lately and though a lot of the pieces are from forever ago, I want to start phasing out my clothes from those kinds of companies and wear primarily thrifted clothing instead.
I'll keep ya posted on how that adventure goes.

Mountains...
{Coat: Thrifted from Buffalo Exchange ($40); Shirt, Scarf, & Jeans: F21 Sale ($3.50, $7, & $12); Boots & Glasses: Nine West ($30 & $IDK)}
Oh, how I love the mountains.
I'm just chillin' in Estes Park, having the most wonderful time shopping in the quaintest of shops, eating the tastiest of toffees, and gazing at the fantastic wonders which are the Colorado mountains.
I've been keeping it cozy with sweaters, scarves and boots as the temp hasn't yet risen above 12 degrees, and you best believe I've been sippin' on my fair share of hot cocoa, too!!
I quit Facebook a while back and I have to say, I'm not missing it much. I hope any who are interested have found my lil bloggy without my links. I promise to keep posting when I find the time and inspiration, and though I won't be headed back to Facebook anytime soon, I so appreciate your continual support and readership.

Dope...
{Ol' Ski Coat: Thrifted from the men's section at Goodwill ($3.50)}
This coat is oh-so dope.
The colors, color blocking and cut remind me of when Tommy Hilfiger tried to get all gangster in the 90's.
Case in point:
Despite the overdose of TH brand-stamping, I liked this collection.
The over-sized fit and pop of contrasting color on the popped collar makes me want to do whatever dance these ladies are dancin.
Just look at em!

New year...
{Faux Fur Hat: Borrowed ($0); Sweater: Thrifted ($5); Jeans: F21 ($13); Boots: Nine West ($30)}
DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW!
What better way to welcome in the new year than with a cozy outfit and a cup of hot cocoa!? That is, of course, not what I did. I tortured myself with giant heels on ice (only fell down Ellen's stairs once!) and sheer black tights which failed to fully shield the chill of sharp Iowa winds. The torture, however, had no impact on my high spirits as Ellen, Stacey and I trotted to and from various Iowa City establishments, whooping, hollering and singing silly songs.
The new year was ours, is ours.
If NYE is any indication,
2013 will bring the best of the best.

Frigid...
{Hat: Borrowed ($0); Coat: Banana Republic (Thrifted $40); Shirt: F21 ($6); Jeans: Levi's ($30); Boots: Nine West ($50); Sunnies: Walmart ($9); Scarf: Claires ($9); Gloves: Gifted Younkers}
I'm finally home after an epic 21.5 hour drive with my older brother and Adeline. I am so thankful to be back around family and friends despite the insane frigidity of Iowa snow. Chilled to the bone. I wore this to an end of the world party at the Mill last night and definitely got some comments on the hat/long coat combo (Dr. Who, Boy George, Anne Hathaway!). I love it, though!! You guys have seen and will see this hat a lot this winter.
Happy holidays to you and yours!!!

Punky...
{Dress: Thrifted no brand ($8); Shirt: Gifted no brand ($0); Jacket: old F21 ($18); Tights: Victoria's Secret; Shoes: Nine West ($30)}
ERRMAHGERD.
It's getting close to Christmas again and I'm just so stupid excited to go home and spend the holiday with my entire family. The three sibs (and Miss Adeline) haven't spent a Christmas together in Iowa in years so this time will mean so much to me. My favorite Christmas tradition is assembling the Christmas tree just so (it must be perfect!) and the boys will be a great help in hanging the lights and various ornaments from our childhood. OH BOY, OH JOY!
Um, that doesn't have much of anything to do with this outfit. And idk what else to say about this one. The title pretty much speaks for itself. I was feeling punky and ran with it.

Score Pt. 1...
Oh, the joys of thrifting. I found this brand spankin' new sweater, originally $288.00 for $2 at my local thrift store. It doesn't get much better than that, eh? These are the steals that make thrifting worthwhile and stupid fun. At some point, I'll post some of the tips and tricks I've learned along the way because it's definitely taken me a while to master the art of thrift store shopping.
{Clement: $2.00}
{The Hawick Cashmere Company: $6.00}
{Calvin Klein: $14.00}
{Old Navy: $4.00}

Grandpa...
{Hat: Borrowed ($0); Coat: Gap (thrifted $5); Blazer: no brand (thrifted $5); Shirt: Express ($24.50); Chords: Levi's ($30); Boots: Nine West ($30)}
I've been dressing like my grandpa a bit lately. Blazers, button-ups and chords have been on repeat and somehow they make me feel smarter. As my semester comes to a close, I'll be needing all of the smart energy I can get!! SO MANY PAPERS DUE AHHH.
Anyway, we've had a few days of snow in Denver lately. I love the change in weather and I especially love that the sun still shows up, keeping me motivated to stay productive and not sink into my sheets prematurely.
I've had a nice weekend. I hope y'all did, too.

Put a scarf on it...
{Scarf: thrifted at Act II Consignment ($2.00); Shirt: Thrifted at Buffalo Exchange ($6.00)}
PUT A BIRD SCARF ON IT!!!
This was taken on one of the days my mom was in town.
I had a lovely time with her and can't wait to see her and the rest of my fam (hopefully) for Thanksgiving.
I also can't wait to share Halloween photos!!!
Last night was a doozy.
Cheerio.

Turtle!!
{Turtleneck: Ralph Lauren thrifted ($2); Shirt: F21 ($4); Chords: Levi's ($30); Shoes: Doc Martins thrifted($4)}
TURTLENECK SHA-BOOO-YAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
You guys, it's the little things. I found this Ralph Lauren Cropped (or super shrunk?) Turtleneck for $2.00 at Goodwill. It's beautiful. And I tell you what, my neck stays warm.
I really can't say enough about thrifting and sale shopping. Not only do I save boatloads of money, but the accumulating and then piecing together of an outfit from two-ish years of thrift/sale finds is so satisfying, so meant to be.
If you're not in on thrifting yet, get after it. Iowa City folks, get to REVIVAL. Denver folks, Goodwill on Broadway or that one place on Colfax and Lafayette. Everyone else, Buffalo is an obvious go-to.
I hope y'all are doing well. I just started club volleyball at UCD and I'm feeling a bit giddy from the physical exercise. Bump, Set, Spike! Just like high school.
Goodnight.
